The Windrush Leisure Centre hosts a broad range of facilities and sessions to cater for all.

Activities available include Swimming, Aerobics, Badminton, Squash, Basketball, Cricket, Volleyball, Circuits and many more.

The newly built swimming pool extension not only offers a safe and clean environment for changing, it also allows comfortable, easy access for everyone.

For those wishing to build up more of a sweat The Mill fitness gym has been recently refurbished and is due to receive a full compliment of brand new, state of the art equipment in July 07.

The Windrush Leisure Centre is situated just a short walk from Witney town centre and has a large free car park.

The centre was built as a joint project between the local Council and the Education Authority and first opened in 1975.

The leisure facilities on offer at Witney Lakes include a gym with a range of exercise machines and free weights, a luxurious 17m swimming pool, sunloungers and a whirlpool massage spa bath over looking the lake, steam room, Male and Female sauna rooms and various beauty treatments.

Members and member's guests can use the bistro which serves hot and cold food and a range of drinks.

There is also a sports bar and a restaurant open to the public.

Witney Lakes has conferencing/function rooms for businesses gatherings, weddings and private parties.

The 19 hole golf course is open to members and "pay and play" golfers alike.

Oxford CC batsmen Stewart Laudat and Todd Hutcheson hit their way into the record books . Their opening partnership was an amazing 435 runs.

The 315-run victory over a seven-man BWIA Cavaliers was in the Evening Standard Trophy, it is believed to be the highest first-wicket stand in English limited overs cricket.

Stewart Laudat , who works locally at Siemens Magnet Technology in Eynsham near Witney , made 231 not out, which came off 142 balls , hitting 35 fours and three sixes. It is the biggest individual score in this competition, beating the previous score of 222.

Laudat, 36, said: "That was my first time past 200 runs and i could have scored alot more.

How things change in one week . . . Stewart badly injured his finger the following week and had to sit out of the Oxford's next match !
